New Practice Direction for the General Division

The President has issued a new Practice Direction for the General Division pursuant to Section 93 of the Tasmanian Civil and Administrative Tribunal Act 2020.

The Practice Direction is titled “Practice Direction 3 – Statements of Evidence”.  The Practice Direction provides instructions and rules to self-represented parties on the preparation of evidence for hearings of the Tribunal in the General Division.  To assist self-represented parties, the Tribunal has also issued an Information Sheet with this Practice Direction.  The Information Sheet provides an explanation of the differences between evidence and submissions to help self-represented parties in preparing their statements of evidence and to not include irrelevant information in those statements.
