New Payment Option for fees in the Guardianship Stream

The Tribunal has introduced a new, additional option for the payment of fees in relation to Instruments of Enduring Guardianship (registration, revocation and search fees) that will allow the public to now make payments directly to the Tribunal. The Tribunal will maintain the current lodgement and payment option through Service Tasmania.

  • A person may present to TASCAT reception and provide the original signed EG Instrument for registration or revocation of EG Instrument and payment can be accepted by debit/credit card.  The payment will be taken by Reception staff, a receipt provided and the EG Instrument will then proceed to be registered as soon as possible.  The original instrument will then be returned to the Appointor/Legal Firm.
  • A person may post the original EG Instrument or Revocation of EG Instrument to TASCAT, along with a completed registration coversheet with the debit/credit card details completed to allow for manual processing of the related fee payment. The payment will be processed by registry, and once the Instrument is registered, the original instrument and a copy of the receipt will be returned to the Appointor/Legal Firm.
  • Legal firms may now telephone the registry to request a search of the EG Register and obtain copies of instruments.  The Legal Firm should e-mail the registry with their request, and the registry can then contact the legal firm and take payment over the phone as a manual transaction.  The receipt and relevant search results/copies of instruments can then be sent by return e-mail to the Legal Firm.
