New Civil and Consumer Stream and new jurisdiction for TASCAT

Amendments to the Residential Building Work Contracts and Dispute Resolution Act 2016 have come into effect on 1 July 2024. These amendments have now created a new stream for TASCAT called the Civil and Consumer Stream.  At present this stream has only one jurisdiction under the Residential Building Work Contracts and Dispute Resolution Act 2016. The Tribunal has published forms, information sheets and a practice direction in relation to this new jurisdiction
