What does the Personal Compensation Stream (Asbestos Compensation) do?

To determine all claims for compensation and any such other matter referred to pursuant to the Asbestos-Related Diseases (Occupational Exposure) Compensation Act 2011 (the Act).

When the Tribunal receives an application, it will follow a process of determining the application which includes:

• notifying relevant people about the application
• providing directions about preparing for a hearing
• listing the application for a hearing
• conducting the hearing and making a decision.

We can help with disputes arising from determinations of the Asbestos Compensation Commissioner refusing applications for compensation under Act.

We cannot help with applications for compensation which are to be made to the Office of the Asbestos Compensation Commissioner.
